Editing Blog

Unfortunately, my partner and I did not edit in class. I had just dumped all of the footage onto our computer and into her drive today. Some of our footage was so lost, so I had to re-film my parts. Our project is due tomorrow. She will have to stay up all night to finish. Once again, she will be using her Mac to edit instead of the school software. This is because of how badly we have technical difficulties last time around. We'd rather be safe than sorry. But, for now, I will plan as much of the editing process now while she is away at practice so the process is as smooth as it can possibly be. I am going to re do our storyboard and it adjust it to what we actually filmed. Some of the little details are just a tad bit different. Next, ill send her the music ready to go, in the proper form needed. This will be helpful as she'll just be able to insert it into the editing software she'll be using. I will also send her the lyrics so she can try to match the clips to the parts that are in the song. I will also clearly indicate how she will do the transitions on the story board. We have a lot of fades and iris' in as well as out. I might have her add a couple of jump cuts. I do have her drive's username and password, so I'll likely go into it and delete the unnecessary clips since we did take several of each. Many of those clips will likely not be used, so i can go in and make that easier for her. If she gets lucky and I have enough time, I may clip a few. Many of our clips do contain excess material. I will also indicate which clips will be put in slow motion. When she gets home from practice I may get on the phone with her as well. This will help if she has any questions. I'll also be able to help with anything she wants to add or remove. I will also go back and fix my storyboard blog to match our video as well as our newer storyboard. Ill then send those changes to her. This will be a tad bit bothersome, but will be worth it. This project is running behind schedule, but we will get it done.
